Use WhatsApp as the front door. Build the deeper experience in a PWA for those who commit. Telegram as the cheapest longitudinal-engagement layer.
The reach argument is unanswerable: 7% website usage means a pure-PWA play converts a minority of a minority. WhatsApp's zero-rated status removes the single biggest barrier for the populations we serve.[5][7]
WhatsApp's UX gaps (no voice in Flows, no persistent hub, no scroll feed) genuinely cost engagement for the users who DO commit. The deeper experience cannot live in a messaging app.
Telegram bot is the cheapest longitudinal-engagement layer and the lowest-risk Meta dependency — pair it with WhatsApp for acquisition and PWA for depth to get the best of all three.[3]
